But the picture on the back of the book looked Japanese, and I was curious, because he mentions chain maintenance and Beemers are shaft drive, so I Googled for an image and found this one. It was 1968. ...I've read this book a few times. It was 1968. I've never seen the pic, I always pictured them on a british twin due to the horsepower referance in the book.
